Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Njoodukani website (njoodukani.com) and the Njoodukani, Njoodukani Driver and Njoodukani Vendor mobile apps.

1. Data we collect

• Account details: name, username, email address, phone number and password (stored hashed).
• Addresses and location: delivery and pickup addresses. The customer app uses your location, only while the Local Delivery or Book a Taxi screen is open, to show restaurants, groceries, pharmacies and liquor stores near you and to set your taxi pickup point. The driver app uses the driver's location while the app is open to assign deliveries and let customers track their order.
• Photos and files: profile photos, marketplace ad photos, dating profile photos and identity (KYC) documents you choose to upload using the camera or photo library.
• Orders and payments: items ordered, amounts, wallet and investment transactions. Card and mobile-money payments are handled by our payment processors (Pesapal, PayPal, Stripe); we do not store full card numbers.
• Messages: marketplace and dating chat messages you send.
• Country (from your IP address): when you first visit the website or open one of our apps, we work out which country you are in from your IP address, not from GPS. We use it to show prices in your currency, offer the website in your language and choose suitable payment options. You can change your currency and language at any time.
• Technical data: IP address, device type and error logs.

2. How we use it

To create and secure your account, process orders, deliveries, rides and payments, verify identity where required, show prices in your currency, send transactional emails and notifications, prevent fraud, and provide support. We never sell your personal data.

3. Who we share it with

• Vendors and drivers, only the details needed to fulfil your order (name, phone, delivery address).
• Payment processors, to complete payments you make.
• Other users, only what you publish: marketplace ads and, if you create one, your dating profile.
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

Maps are provided by OpenStreetMap and video calls by Jitsi Meet; these services receive the technical data needed to load maps or connect a call. Your country is looked up in a database stored on our own servers, so your IP address is not sent to anyone else for this (IP geolocation by DB-IP).

4. Security

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS, passwords are hashed, and access to personal data is restricted to staff who need it.

5. Retention and account deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account) or at njoodukani.com/delete-account/. Deletion removes your name, contact details, photos, addresses, identity documents, ads, dating profile and messages. Order, payment and investment records are kept without your personal details for as long as financial record-keeping laws require.

6. Children

Njoodukani is not intended for children under 13, and the dating feature is only for adults aged 18 and over.
