Emu oil has anti-inflammatory properties worth $80–120/litre in pharmaceutical markets. Emu leather commands $150–300/skin in European fashion markets. This project starts with 200 breeding emus near Arusha with 5-year scaling to 2,000 birds. Tanzania's dry Arusha climate is ideal for emus (minimal disease, low feed cost). The first harvest of oil and leather begins in year 2.
