Tanzania Cashew Nut Processing — Mtwara

Tanzania produces 200,000 tonnes of cashews per year but processes less than 10% locally. This factory adds value by grading, roasting, and packaging cashews for the EU and Middle East. Processing doubles the per-kg export value from $1.50 to $3.50+. The factory employs 120 people from local farming communities. AGOA and EBA trade agreements provide duty-free access to US and EU markets.
