Matooke Banana Farm — Mbarara

This project funds a 50-acre commercial matooke (cooking banana) farm in Mbarara district, southwestern Uganda. Matooke is Uganda's staple food and demand is consistently high year-round. The farm uses drip irrigation to ensure yields through dry seasons. Harvest cycles run every 18 months with replant intervals, generating steady income. All produce is sold wholesale to Kampala markets and supermarket chains through pre-arranged contracts.
