Catfish (Clarias) Pond Farm — Jinja

Clarias catfish (male) reach 1kg in 3–4 months. This project digs 20 earthen ponds (30x10m each) near Jinja using Nile river water for inflow. Production capacity: 4 tonnes per pond per year (80 tonnes total). Dried and smoked catfish exports to DRC and South Sudan command premium prices. Fresh supply goes daily to Jinja and Kampala markets.
