Ankole Cattle Ranch — Kiruhura

Kiruhura district in southwestern Uganda is the heart of the Ankole cattle country. This project establishes a 200-head ranch with Ankole long-horn cattle. Revenue comes from: (1) live cattle sales to Kampala abattoirs at UGX 3–5M/head, (2) fresh milk sales to Mbarara dairy cooperatives (150–200 litres/day), (3) premium Ankole beef exports to Rwanda and DRC. Grazing land is leased at favourable rates from local community land.
